Final post. 2166 miles covered. Now home. Job done!

Last destination before home, cannock!

RT3 has reached its end. Im currently in devon dropping tom off, and will be driving back tomorrow.

At calais port, its wet and windy. 2 hour wait for the ferry. Eurggh

Here we are in Brugge. We've been called a wanker by a Belgiun, Greg set a bin on fire, and we just spent €176 on meat. Lets drink.

Sat in the bar beneath our hostel in Bruges. Let the finale begin!

Now left Germany for our final destination, Brugge, 270 miles away. We stay in a hostel there tonight, and then make our way back to calais tomorrow afternoon. We are all so skint and ready for home, but this is the final night and it will be one to remember. 84 miles to go.

A glass of wine on the river rhein

Arrived in bacharach. Just set up our tents on what has to be the best location of the trip. We are literally on the edge of the river rhine at the end of the camp site away from anyone else. Its a little cloudy, but warm and dry. Had a taster of the autobahns on the way here. We've covered 1300 miles and are now heading towards home.

We have left the harz mountains and are coming to the end of the 200 mile journey to bacharach on the river rhine. Just having a toilet break and are stocking up on water and snacks. Weather is good today, and its pretty warm. 40 miles to go!..

Its Friday 13th and we just crammed ourselves in a chairlift that Patrick liked to call a zip line. Having yet more sausage in a nice restaurant on the top of the mountain. There's a little snow on the ground and it just hailed for a while but apart from that its been a decent day. We have no idea where we're travelling to or when yet.

Just set up our tents at the camp site in okertalsperre, harz. The last part of the drive was amazing. The trusty micra pulled us up some long old hills and at the top we actually drove past some snow, then we rolled back down into a more sensible temperature before finding the camp site. Can't wait to have a proper explore tomorrow.

En route to the harz mountains, stopped off at a mcds and won an apple pie, a coke, some chips, a cappuchino and 2 milkshakes. 100 mile to go. Back to the road!

Walking through the city of hamburg, blue skies for the first time of the trip. Going to the harz mountains this afternoon where we'll spend the next 2 or 3 nights.

Been doing some more hard work at the farm today, fixed electric fence and barn door for the horsies, then went for a ride.. Some transferable roofing skills come into play. Well funny yesterday, one of the stable doors came open in the barn and two horses got out, anyway Chris went over screaming 'THEY'RE LETTING EACH OTHER OUT!!'.. Haha, anyway were in Hamburg, Germany, finally enjoying a decent meal of German sausage and chilling with a nice stag xD

Just driven 300 miles! Rained all day, but not to worry as were setting up our home for the next 2 nights in the top of a barn. Maybe ride some horses tomorrow. Pretty surreal stuff..

That seemed a really quick drive, Greg has already finished 4 beers lol. Managed to get the hour earlier ferry, just waiting around, boarding at half 11. Bye for now, England!
